Lucy Strange worked as an actor, singer and storyteller before becoming a secondary school English teacher. She lived and worked in Dubai for five years. During this time she started the award-winning blog, Homesick and Heatstruck.
In 2014 she won the runner-up prize in the Montegrappa Writing Prize competition at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, and was able to develop her writing with the help of agent, Luigi Bonomi.
Strange moved back to the UK in 2015 and now lives in Canterbury with her husband and their cat.
The Secret of Nightingale Wood was published by Chicken House in October 2016 and is her first novel for children.
